Charging pressure regulators are installed in the vacuum hose upstream of the wastegate valve and regulate the amount of air that reaches the wastegate valve. If the boost pressure is to be increased by a certain value compared to the standard set pressure, the control valve must precisely release the difference between the new and the old boost pressure. This delays the triggering of the wastegate valve and forces the turbocharger to generate more boost pressure. Electronic boost pressure regulators offer more extensive functions and a higher degree of flexibility, e.g. a boost pressure control dependent on the selected gear is possible.
Technical Information:
The E-Boost Street improves engine response and performance without changing boost pressure. The maximum possible boost pressure that can be set is 2.72 bar. With the help of an additional switch or the setting knob on the unit, it is possible to select between two different boost pressure values. The live display optionally shows the boost pressure in bar, psi, kPa or the current speed. When overboosting or reaching the speed limiter, the display starts flashing. The brightness of the display is adjustable bar.
